  US SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR RIFLEA U. S. Springfield Model 1884 "Trapdoor" Cadet Rifle. 45-70 caliber, with sight. Stamped "U. S. Springfield" with eagle on the right side, "US Model 1884" on the lock, and "U" on one barrel band. Serial #19294 (last number is obscured). Walnut stock. Some areas of minor wear. Barrel 29 1/2" long, 48 1/2" long overall. ESTIMATE $400-600 Condition: Some areas of minor wear.

  SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR RIFLE. Marked US Model 1884 on breech plug 45-70 caliber 33-1/2'' round barrel dark oiled walnut stock. S/n 122200. Clean bore good rifling strong action. Patina is very dark some old dings and scratches. All appropriate cartouches and stamps are present. Eagle and US Springfield on lockplate are somewhat worn.

V P over Eaglehead on barrel extra P and A also. US on buttplate U on barrel bands. US Springfield beside Eagle on lockplate. Rectagonal cartouche 1889 on left side of stock. Upper and lower sling swive additional stacking swivel. Very few dings deep blue colors very good condition. Two small screw holes at top of wrist. Possibly had a Vernier sight at one point.

Clean bore good rifling strong action. Barrel shows light rust V P and Eagle head very clear. Stock is dark with old dings does Not have cartouche. 1884 under Model and Springfield on lockplate are fading but legible.

Round barrel 32 1/2'' .45/70 caliber with Buffington rear site and corrugated trigger. Inspector stamp S.W.P. 1889 on stock. S/n 476133. Better than average condition with nice dark metal and wood surfaces.

  SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 RIFLE. Trapdoor style with a ramrod bayonet. .45-70 caliber 32 1/2'' round barrel and a heavy dark finished wood stock. The gun has several makings including 10 over 284 on right side of stock. SWP over 1891 small stamp on left side stock above trigger VP on barrel by breach US model 1884 on top of trapdoor and U.S. Springfield and eagle on lockplate. S/n 209255. Bore condition very good normal wear.

Over all condition of gun excellent.
